Current no go zones in CA for CCW Holders

  • A place with the primary purpose of dispensing alcoholic beverages for on-site consumption.
  • While engaged in picketing or other informational activities in a public place, relating to a concerted refusal to work.
  • Within any “public transit facility.” Public transit facility” means any land, building, or equipment, or any interest therein,
    including any station on a public transportation route, to which access is controlled in a manner consistent with the public
    transit authority’s security plan, whether or not the operation thereof produces revenue, that has as its primary purpose the
    operation of a public transit system or the providing of services to the passengers of a public transit system. A public transit
    system includes the vehicles used in the system, including, but not limited to, motor vehicles, streetcars, trackless trolleys,
    buses, light rail systems, rapid transit systems, subways, trains, or jitneys, that transport members of the public for hire.
  • Within any sterile area of an airport or a passenger vessel terminal.
  • Gun show or event.
  • In a “school zone,” meaning any area in or on the grounds of a public or private school providing instruction in
    kindergarten or grades 1 through 12, or within a distance of 1,000 feet from the grounds of the public or private school.
  • On the grounds of a campus of, or buildings owned or operated for student housing, teaching, research, or
    administration by, a public or private university or college, that are contiguous or are clearly marked university
    property, without the written permission of the university or college president.
  • Within any state or local public building or at any meeting required to be open to the public.
  • A Polling Place
  • The State Capitol, any legislative office, any office of the Governor or other constitutional officer, or any hearing
    room in which any committee of the Senate or Assembly is conducting a hearing, or upon the grounds of the State
    Capitol, if the firearm is loaded or the area is posted with a statement providing reasonable notice that prosecution
    may result from possession of a firearm or ammunition.
  • In or on the grounds of the Governor’s Mansion or any other residence of the Governor, the residence of any other
    constitutional officer, or the residence of any Member of the Legislature.
  • U.S. Post Office, V.A. Hospital, or other place not permitted by federal law, including parking lots and sidewalks.
  • In or on the property of any social rehabilitation facility, childcare center, or crisis nursery.
